Our Intention

Our intended departure date is Saturday 1 Sep 2018, when we will take the train to Melbourne and board an Emirates aircraft bound for Dubai.  From then, we intend to post every day or two, giving you stories and pictures about the places we visit, including the things we do and the sights we see.

Up until then, we intend to show you our planned itinerary with notes about what we expect to experience during our travels.  We will point to the places we intend to stay and report anything interesting we come across during our preparations.

You may know we're making the trip this year because we had to cancel our plan for last year due to a major health issue.  That being all over, we will be approaching this year's journey with increased relish.

For the present, we will leave the blog open to comments from anyone reading it.  This will help us to keep in touch with what's going on 'at home' - well may we care a lot!
